Welcome to BUiLDiNG CHARACTER’s blog
Testing … 1, 2, 3 … testing … Is this thing on? Ahem…
Welcome to the blog of BUiLDiNG CHARACTER, an architectural salvage retail warehouse in Lancaster, PA. We’re an environmentally friendly and green company with a committment to working with local government, historical preservation groups, developers, architects, artists and home-renovators to provide an outlet for architectural salvage items.
BUiLDiNG CHARACTER’s mission is to educate the public to the historical and environmental benefits of a salvage plan and the reuse and recycling of materials; and to support local preservation groups and efforts.
And we also LOVE to throw an amazing party! You gotta check out musicFRIDAYS, the third Friday of every month; and of course, First Fridays, where we toast another artist opening at the shop. Next week we welcome six J.P. McCaskey High School students as part of the “Senior Portfolio Show — and Other Works” exhibit. This opening marks a new relationship with McCaskey, which is the alma mater of BUiLDiNG CHARACTER owners Tony Nies and me, Marty Hulse. We are creating a permanent exhibition space for McCaskey art students for future projects.
